MAJLIS BERSAMA RAKYAT 2023M

UNITED KINGDOM, THURSDAY, 04/01/2024 - The most anticipated Majlis Bersama Rakyat has returned again last Thursday, on the 28th of December 2023 at Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. The event was attended by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Hajah Haji Mohamed Alam. 

The Brunei Religious Officer Student Association (BruROSA) was once more given the opportunity to manage and arrange the performance of the year Majlis Bersama Rakyat which consisted of Quran recitation and its translation as well as nasheed for this long-awaited meaningful event. Alhamdulillah, a total of 34 participants which included volunteers of Bruneian students from the UK and Éire, as well as children wh0 outshined the whole performance.

The event was commenced with the recitation of verses from Surah Al-Baqarah by Mohammad Wajdi bin Haji Mohammad Ja’afar from University of Edinburgh as well as the narrations of the morals and significance of the verses by Muhammad Nabil Syahmi bin Norman from University of Highlands and Islands, Perth, Scotland. The verses recited emphasise on the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS in setting a great example in parenthood, leadership amongst his people by successfully spreading the message and teaching of Islam throughout the history. The verses also highlighted the story of Prophet Ismail AS in portraying the importance of the complete reliance on Allah, showing the true meaning of submission to Allah the Almighty God and steadfastness in following Allah's commands.

Majlis Bersama Rakyat came to an end with the performance of Allahul Kafi nasheed consisting of prayers for the sustenance and wellbeing of His Majesty Sultan. The event was also enlivened with the enthusiastic involvement of the children in the performance, instilling the ceremony with a delightful and lively energy while leaving a lasting impression to all who attended.
