BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Saturday, 7/08/2021- The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports had invited 34 students studying in the United Kingdom & Eire which also comprises of Brunei Student Union (BSUnion) and Brunei Religious Officers Student Association (BruROSA) to jointly enliven in witnessing the celebration of the 16th National Youth Day 2021 at the International Conference Hall (ICC).
The theme of the 16th National Youth Day celebration is "Youth Alert for the Future". Maintaining the theme in line with Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia's noble intention to see Brunei Youth ready to face future challenges, especially in the context of the fourth industrial revolution and in a situation of new norms that promise many changes and opportunities, as well as relevant to the National Youth Policy and Strategy (DBNS) is being actively implemented at the moment.
At 9 a.m., KDYMM Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzadien Waddaulah along with the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Pengiran Al Muhtadee-billah and other royal relatives departed to the Plenary Hall. The invited guests consisted of youth organisations from around Brunei. Also present was the Honorable Major General (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The event began with a welcome prayer by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and was followed by Titah Sultan. Students were able to witness the presentation ceremony for the youths who exhibited the excellence of the youths in serving and witnessed the great success of the youths to their hard work and integrated efforts in the development of the country. Then, KDYMM left the council to see the youth day exhibition in the format of "informative, engaging, interactive and tech savvy".
The students had to wore masks and sit 1 metre apart from each other to follow the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) of Covid 19
From attending this event, students have learned how to be excellent youth to serve the country. The event was conducted in at least 2 hours following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The students dispersed from the plenary hall at 11 a.m.
