BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SUNDAY, 01/08/2021 – In conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 75th birthday, the BruROSA members, alongside with Brunei Students Union (BSUnion) and other overseas Student Councils, namely BSU Australia & New Zealand and Brunei Student Society Malaysia, had the massive opportunity to be invited to 'Majlis Ramah Mesra dan Junjung Ziarah Bersama Rakyat' at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien on the 1st of August 2021.

Under the scorching sun, students and teachers lined up along Bandar roads to welcome the arrival of His Majesty and the members of the Royal Family by waving their mini flags with big smiles. Royal Family members include His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik, HRH Prince 'Abdul Mateen, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and HRH Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah. The event officially commenced with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a 10-minute special performance revolving around the theme, 'Raja Tersohor Kegemilangan Rakyat', performed by 200 performers in colourful costumes, comprising of students from primary school until secondary school as well as government and private agencies.

Subsequently, His Majesty and the Royal Family proceeded to meet and talk with the performers on stage. They then went ahead to meet the residents of each mukim, businesses and organisations such as Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA), Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), etc. We were waiting patiently for His Majesty's arrival at camp number 43, specifically for overseas students, where we had the chance to talk and take pictures with the Royal Family to commemorate this golden moment. In addition, some of our members went to Lapau for Majlis Santap after His Majesty concluded mingling with the citizens.

Although it was for only a short period, all of us felt content and blessed to be able to celebrate His Majesty's birthday this year after a yearlong hiatus due to COVID-19. Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik!
